Sometimes I wonder if I will ever be able to build or buy a house in my island.The cost of land is extremely expensive and if you borrow the money ,you are doomed to spend a life time paying back the loan especially with the present salary rates.
This fact has caused a lot of young persons to leave the island and migrate to the USA,England or Canada.They know if they work for a couple of years they will be able to purchase land or houses in Tobago due to the conversion rate of the dollar(usa 6:1,England 12:1,Canada 5:1)

This has led to a brain drain in the island as bright young prospects work overseas developing nations that are already developed.

I have been tempted to leave also but then I remember that this world is not my home ,I am just passing through.

My Lord Jesus tells me not to worry in these words found in St. John 14 :1 -3,

"Let not your heart be troubled:you believe in God ,believe also in me.In my Father's house are many mansions:if it were not so,I would have told you.I go to prepare a place for you.And if I go and prepare a place for you,I will come again ,and receive you unto myself; that whereI am ,there you may be also."

Isn't that wonderful ,Jesus is coming again to take me home in heavenly places and He is providing me with a home also!
